LA RONDINE is… no more – and we will miss it terribly. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the project, it was a wonderful ride with a host of talented people, a real pleasure. Sorry to those of you couldn’t make it – we’ll find you next time (to be read in a menacing voice)…

Opera di Peroni, Autumn/Winter La Rondine, 2013
The Peroni and Kwes collaboration culminated in the first ever fringe performance of Puccini’s opera, La Rondine. We worked with Kwes to create an electronic soundscape that supported our singers and instrumentalists. The show had 5 performances in Shoreditch and 2 in Bristol.

Opera di Peroni, Spring/Summer 2012
We collaborated with Peroni Nastro Azzuro and electronic artist Kwes to create punchy 15 minute taster performances of Puccini and Verdi in a specially designed pop-up space across 6 cities in the UK. On top of this, we performed in over 50 bars and pubs.

GO TRAVIATA! @ Wilderness, 2011
A shortened version of the Hackney production for the Wilderness Festival.

2011 7 sold-out nights performing a re-working of Verdi’s opera, La Traviata, took place in a warehouse tucked away in Hackney Wick in June 2011. Funded using a combination of crowd-funding, private backing and ticket sales we managed to achieve wide coverage in the broadsheets (The Times, The Guardian, The Evening Standard, The Independent) and the local papers (The Hackney Wick, The Book). We also were reviewed by numerous blogs (What Katie Wore, Ceasefire Magazine, Topshop Blog etc.)

“The innovative set and designs as well as the style of the staging and production itself brought a new triumphant master to the world of fringe opera.” Ceasefire Magazine, June 2011

“GO OPERA continued its mission to bring opera to the masses, performing engaging 15-minute chunks of La Traviata.” The Guardian, August 2011

“La Rondine is an interactive, alternative and exciting alternative to traditional opera” Live Magazine, March 2013

“Exciting, fresh and ultra-cool…an event that will cater to and inspire a wide range of people.” My Telegraph, March 2013
